  • CELL-TECH Carb Control?

Has anyone experimented with Creatine on Atkins? The usual creatine I used to use had 75G of carbs in it so once I got on low carb I couldn't use it anymore However Cell Tech came out with a carb control version I think its 9G of carbs, anyone tried it? Weight gains?

BFL has a low carb one too. As does the meat you are eating as part of your Atkins WOE. 1/2 pound of beef has 1 gram of Creatine.

You are going to get a weight gain with it as your muscles will store it in themselves with the fluids they need to use it much like when folk glycogen load.
the weight will be show up as lean body mass not fat mass if that is what you are concerned about.

    Happy low carbing

Thanks 2Big, yeah I have no problem with gains as long as they are lean body mass. I was just concerned about the information they give being accurate and not some sneaky this is 9 carbs but really 100 and we lie muhaha. Heh that answers my questions, thanks again. ha

In case anyones reading this thinking of using creatine I found another that seems to work for me. I've been using it for about 2 days now picked it up at GNC - Pro Performance CreaStack, contains glutamine along with the creatine which is a nice benefit. 1G Carbs and 0G of Sugar, just another option to consider. Noticable gains in performance already I like it.

Here is the problem with creatine. Unknown to many people, Creatine isnt very effective unless something is either added into the mixture when made or you add in yourself. This has to consist of some sugar ... whether its just juice, or non carbonated pop or whatever. Without the sugar your insulin levels will not raise enough for the creatine to do much of any good. Thus I say get down somewhere around your ideal BF% and then try creatine. Thats just me, but Atkins and sugar usually arent a great mix.

The creatine has a 60% greater increase when combined with sugar, however 50g of protein combined with the creatine was shown to have the same effect as those containing equal amounts of sugar/carbohydrates. Some creatines also contain Alpha-lipoic acid which is supposed to have the insulin spiking reaction without the sugar/carbohydrate consumption.
