  • This week is DIY week!

I was feeling a little guilty that I am doing DIY and no exercise this week. To be quite honest, after six or so hours I am absolutely pooped and can barely move. When I entered the info into fitday it was showing that I was burning more calories than when I do my exercise. I was also only counting for two hours as I assumed that a six hour long day would have a few breaks in it, you know, when you stand back and admire your handy work (or mistakes in my case).

Can this be true and if so, am I better off doing gardening and DIY rather than exercise? There's only so much that needs doing :confused

Richt and I had this discussion and it is a matter of the hours in the day

you are getting credit for the time you are alive in those hours too. if you look you will see your basal % hrs went down as you added those 6 hrs of gardening. When you workout ofr say 1 hour you have 1 hr exercise and 23 something else. your gardening days are 6 hr gardening and 18 something else you may or you may not in those something else hrs use up more cals on your non exercise DIY days to have a total burn higher for the day.
