Well, I seemed to have wrecked my knee after a curling bonspiel about three weeks ago. I went to the doc today and he said no lower body exercise of any kind for two weeks!!! Plus some heavy duty anti-imflammatories. It's terrible, and I'm pouting! The mini triathlon I'm supposed to do is in June! That means two weeks of no training! Ah well, I can still do upper body weight training and wait for the x-ray results. Just thought my fellow exercise junkies would understand....*heavy sigh*

Thanks 2big. I'm really not the whining type....but this really sucks! I'm sure it's not just recent overuse. Years of being obese probably have taken the the worse toll on those joints. And yeah, I am going to do a bit. I really just can't bend it. The doc really wants me to rest it for two weeks and he'd prefer if I didn't swim. I think I'm just gonna do as I'm told, cause I'm into this exercise thing for life! It inspires me to keep eating my Atkins because when I get to my goal weight...look out! Thanks for the hug.

okay know that your metabolism will slow down and you may actually gain weight will eating the exact same stuff that is just how our bodies work,
Also if you were using exefcise as you stress releif you need to work on another one fast also if you used it for craving control.

Ah sorry to hear about that. You are smart to listen to your doctor, you'll be able to use that knee for many years to come if you let it heal nicely. Just think of it as a good time to pick up on your upper body workouts. Hope it heals fast.A.K.A: 64oz

Ouch, I can sympathize with you. Last weekend I hurt my shoulder while on the bench press. I think I may have a torn rotator cuff.
After about five days of rest the pain is starting to go away but it will be a while before I can do any upper body weights. Although I can still run & use the ab & back machines.
So just do what you can do, let your body heal & take it from there. Good luck.Male
