Anyone using this program? Can I get some feedback on it?
I have been doing Slim in 6 since October. I am looking for something to change it up. I had ordered Project: You but sent it back. Was too fast and too dancey and I apparently don't have rhythm! LOL. I am wondering what the power 90 involves? Any feedback appreciated!! Thanks! :hug

Power90 (in my opinion) is the best home video for cardio + weight training. You must have both to lose weight and KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF. A lot of people just do cardio and lose muscle along with fat. This is bad. Power90 keeps your LBM stable while losing fat!

Thanks for the quick reply Emo. I have hand weights and resistance bands, is there anything else I might need to do this workout? And what type of exercises are involved with this program?

Power 90 cardio is a mixture of high steps, side kicks, front kicks, arm jabs, upper cuts, body blows, x jumps (imagine an 'x' on the floor and try to weave in and out of it while staying in place) ... and so on and so forth.

Power 90 weight training is just a mixture of weight training exercises to help the beginner get started. All you need is either dumbells or resistance bands to do Power90. I use the gym though.

I am losing FAT on Atkins while still attempting to bodybuild. Not extreme as in the guys you think of when you bodybuild. Just cut and strong. I plan to play college football while becoming a personal trainer and hopefully one day working for a professional sports team of some kind. Thus I dont use Power 90 anymore. Power 90 is great for people who are just trying to lose weight because it will help you shed fat and KEEP the LBM you have but it wont help you lose fat and GAIN LBM, which is my goal.

No problem. Keep in mind that 95% of diets fail and of those 5% who do actually get down to their goal weight, MANY gain their weight back because they failed to weight train. MUSCLE burns fat. If you lose weight with muscle then your taking away what is burning fat. Once you get down to regular weight your BMR will be so much lower that you will gain weight VERY easily. I see weight training as non-negotionable for weight loss. Others will disagree - their loss I guess.

I'm gonna order the power 90 I think. I like the Slim in 6, but ready for a change of pace.

Hey Barb--I was doing the P90 DVD last summer. There is a bit of everything mixed in there. Some power yoga/pilates type stuff, some boxing/tae bo type stuff and some basic aerobic cardio stuff. It was awful to get through for the first week, but as I kept at it, it got easier. The ab routine was a KILLER!

Then I fell off the exercise wagon....

Now I'm back on, at the gym at hubby's work (his gift to me) so I don't use my DVD's as much. BUT, I'm thinking that I will stick that back on and use it on the days I can't get up to the gym (due to volunteer time at my youngest classroom).

Hope you like it as much, you certainly will work doing it!

                        Kathy

Thanks Kat. I am going to look into it this week again. I had it in my shopping cart at one time, but was waiting for a discount price! LOL.
