  • Started Exercising and Starting to get Hungrier!

    Just wanted to know if anyone has had the same experience, and if they have how has it effected their weight loss.

    I started Atkins 9/18 and by 9/27 I was down about 7 pounds!! On the 26th I joined a gym and the personal trainer has me doing about 35 minutes of lifting three times per week, and cardio five days a week. I have worked out every day since 9/26 and have lost that "I could forget the eat a meal" state that I had prior to the gym. I am not weighing in until 10/3 because that is my next weigh in day.

    I was wondering if I should be worried about the increase in hunger, I'm keeping my carbs under 20 per day. Has anyone had this experience? And how has it gone for you?

    current weight ~ 144
    goal weight (weight at wedding) ~ 125

    mini goals:
    152 ~ Starting Weight 9-16
    140 ~ one month tanning
    135 ~ mani or pedi
    130 ~ $50 shopping spree
    125 ~ True Religion or 7 Jeans

    Big Goal (When I fit in my pants again) massage, facial, pedi & hair........

    Sounds normal to me. You are boosting your metabolic rate with the exercise, and your bod wants more food.

    One thing to look forward to, in the book it says a 'regular exerciser' can expect to have a CCLL of 90. So once you reach maintenance, you will be able to eat possibly 90 carbs a day and not gain. That leaves a lot of room for good whole grains and healthy fruits!

    But eat, already, some nice protein/fat for those hardworking muscles!

      Tell me if you think this is to much:

      Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 1/2 scoop of protein powder with splenda (2 carbs)
      Mid Morning: coffee (3 carbs)
      Lunch: Atkins Bar (2 carbs)

      For Dinner I plan on chicken breast with cheese (1) carb
      And a snack of cream cheese & pork rinds maybe......

      Today I worked out on the treadmill doing alternate cycles of walking and running and burned about 300 cals.

        You left out the vegetables in your post? It isn't Atkins without a minimum of 3 cups of vegetables off the approved lists!

          ok got it, veggies it is, i can dip veggies in the cream cheese instead of pork rinds.
