  • from 156lbs to 140 bad body image

if i went from 156 lbs to 140 ( not a great deal of weight loss) but done quickly

The result is alot of lose skin which i never had. I was never overweight so im thinking im slim with lose skin because of the fadt weight loss.

Will the skin tighten by time? or will it stay this way ?

i never had lose skin, it just came when i lost those pounds.

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure after losing 15lb the skin will restore itself eventually. It's not that much for it to stretch so damage should be minimal. Keep up the weightlifting and hydration.

Ah thats all? That will tighten itself up alot easier and faster than if you had lost say 100 pounds. Definitely good advice to stay hydrated and workout.

        i really hope ur right..

It was exactly 17 lbs. I got overweight because i was on medication that made me eat alot. Then i lost weight fast because of atkins, i lost the weight before same amount but over a 6 months period and i didnt have lose skin.

Maybe when im in maintaining it will go back to the normal self in time like u say, because it was like that before the medicine made me gain those 17 lbs.

        Thanks.

did u have the same experience? if yes, what did u do ?

Really hard to say, I've got some loose skin on my lower stomach, but that's from being 50lb overweight - and it's minimal, so I don't see any problems in the future.

Me too, I have lost 65lbs now and I also only have a small amount of loose skin. With 17 I dont think you will have much trouble.

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I think it depends on your age now too? when you lsot before were you much younger? I find my skin on my stomach completly differnt and a bit looser with my weight loss than when i lost weight on weight watchers a few years ago. And I lost 30 lbs over 10 monsth this time..which is not quick. I think it's because i"m now 36 and not 28..my skins just doesn't have as much elasticity.

But I also agree that keeping hydrated will really help..

It will probably take time for your body to adjust, but if you're still young, it should do it fairly quickly.

If you're older, then it may take a little longer adjustment period.

Like the others were saying, it's not a lot of weight, so it should snap back fairly soon.

                Congrats, by the way.

Great job on the weight loss!!! :clapping

As for the skin, lots of cardio and resistance training should help alot! If you're not already exercising, doing so 4-5 times a week will do wonders!
