  • Swimmers out there?

I'm a swimmer and love the water. I've been swimming a couple days a week for a year at the gym, but have decided to make a daily effort and also increase the time I swim. I am loving it so far.

What I would like to know is:

    1. Are there goggles that won't leave marks around my eyes for hours afterwards?
    2. I have long, thick hair and am needing a really good swim cap. Any recommendations?

    THANKS!

    Hey Stephanie -

I'm a swimmer too... for the goggles, I recommend those old school kind - with just the foamy thing around the edge, that aren't very tight. I've nver been able to fix that problem myself. As for the cap, I use the silicone caps myself and I love them!

Hi Stephanie, I use a speedo swim cap and it works fine! Good for you for making this a daily effort! I need to do it, too! I'm going to try to make more of an effort, you've inspired me!

Being male, I won't be much help about the swim cap but I can help with goggles. There are two main kinds: the small ones that sort of fit in your eye socket and the larger ones. I have never likes the small ones. I have had the best luck with Aqua Sphere brand.
Amazon.com: Aqua Sphere Seal Swim Mask: Sports & Outdoors

I have bought them at Sport Chalet and Big 5. After a few months they sometimes start to leak. Then you just have to buy new ones. If you rinse them and keep them in a plastic case, they will last longer.
