  • Cool Running for the week of March 14

This is an ongoing thread for those of us who either run, jog, or use the treadmill .. any kind of cardio, really ...

Record your progress here and it will keep you motivated. I will plan to start this thread each week .. You'll amaze yourself with what you're capable of!!

Remember: IF YOU DON'T MOVE, NEITHER WILL THE SCALE!
    :icondance

    *****

Monday, 3/14: 7.3 miles run today, burned 742 calories.
Tuesday, 3/15: I don't usually run 2 days in a row, but we're in a rainy spell and I didn't want to chance a rainout on Wednesday, which is my normal running day. Anyway, I did 6.2 miles today, and burned 623 calories. Woohoo, over 1300 calories gone in 2 days. Gotta love that!

I have a 10k race coming up this Saturday .. which means I'll probably do another 6.9 mile run on Thursday, then take Friday as a rest day.

    MOVE IT TO LOSE IT!

I'll be running again Thursday in preparation for Saturday's 10k race. Looking forward to that!!

Monday - 11.11 km on elliptical machine; walked with dogs as well. I'm pretty sure I ran with them too - I just can't remember without checking my Cool Running Log.

Tuesday - briskly walked 1.6 km; ran back (with dogs)

Daily before bed - minimum 50 pushups, plus some floor/ab exercises

            At last - a low-carb running thread - Yipppeeeeeee!!!!!!

I'm a newbie runner, running 2 miles most days, and the occasional 4 mile run/walk. It's taken me about 6 months to get this far and I *still* haven't completed the couch to 5k plan :-(

            But I'm working on it!

I ran my two miles yesterday, but today was a 'rest' day as I'm having recurring stomach cramps, which I'm going to get checked out at the doctors tomorrow. I usually use an elliptical trainer on my rest days but at the moment it's loaded up on the van ready for next week's mega drive to Portugal where we are moving to later this spring. As you can see, life's a bit chaotic at the moment...

            I'll check in again tomorrow!

Rich, you look absolutely FANTASTIC! Love your before and after pix.

3 miles for me today, which is GOOD! I've only been up to 2.5 the past few months. I was a little upset with work this morning, so I must have had some extra umph!

Two miles run/walk this morning. More walk than run this time, but it goes like that some days

On the down side, there is a huge pond near the road I run along, and once a year all the frogs who were hatched there make their way back for spawning. This means that for a few days each year the road gets covered with squished frogs that haven't managed to dodge the cars.

Yuck. Pretty gross picking your way through that lot... :yikes

It snowed again, here, so the roads are once again miserable.
Will have to get going on the elliptical again.
My feet hurt from trying to break in my military boots, so hopefully I'll get at it this weekend (after I go stomping around in them on the exercise Saturday).

Does that count? It's not running, but I'd argue with anyone who says it's not exercise :sarcasm

No run for me today .. gotta rest up for the big 10k race tomorrow. I'm not at all counting on winning .. but for me, at age 49 ... FINISHING IS WINNING!! :guns I plan to have a good run!!
