  • whey protein shakes???

Ok - so first off, what I can gather from searching is that first off, in order to "legally" use whey protein shakes, I need to be on the DAIRY rung of atkins (which I decided this week to move up to). So I know that.

My question is - how many of you use whey protein powder / shakes after working out?

I am really trying to up my exercise - especially weight/resistance training. I went to the Vitamin Shoppe today and bought some powder form of L-Glutamine, which as 4500 mg per tsp instead of 500 mg like I'd have gotten from pill form...

The guy there suggested I get the powdered instead and to mix it with a protein shake after working out.

We have 2 different types here at the house as my fiance used to drink them a LOT when he was really working out (they're not too old, bought em last year) - and I had a few here and there...

But now that I'm really getting back into the gym and working out hard - I want to make sure that having a whey protein shake (26 g protein / 1 g carb + the tsp of L-Glutamine to help with muscle production) is OK to have on atkins...

how many of you use whey protein along with your exercise regimen?

I don't think I would have one UNLESS I've had a workout - which I'm TRYING to work out STTS - Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.

    THANKS!!!!

It is OK to have. Best to wait till you are in rung 2 - dairy - as this is a dairy product.
I have some after exercise. Mostly because it is quick and convenient and I am in a hurry with showers and getting to work and this is something I can grab.
