    Hey! my step dad has a total gym, and i was just wondering if anyone else out there uses one. if so, how well does it work and what exercises work best for you in your experience? i just want to use it to put more muscles in my arms. (i don't have access to weights) anything would be great, so thankx :icondance

    Well I just bought one a week ago. I really like it so far.
    Since you know someone who has one, ask them if you can try it out.
    Ask them what exercises they use.

    I really like it for the arms (so far).

    You do pullups on the slant, so you use the same muscles that you would for a regular pull-up (but many of us can't do a reg pu)

    My friend says that all the rowers (crew) like using the TG for their arms and stomach.

    I have only been using it for a week, but feel a harder muscle in my bicep and can feel my tricep working

    I bought mine on eBay. And its only been one week, but so far I think it has a lot of potential to be a really good piece of equipment. But like everything, it will only work, if you work it

      I love my Total Gym, altough I must admit I haven't been using it. My boyfriend did taxes and this room is a mess. But you know what after I post this I'm getting off my a$$ and clearing it away to use it for streching. I'm a little under the weather but I know I can get on it and just slide up and down without the cables. (oh it's called the squat)
      When I used it faithfully I use the cables to do my upper body, the Arm Pullover and add a crunch for abs. The one I really love is when I attach the foot cable it's called the Hamstring Pull.
      Good luck, if you don't have the instruction book, just watch one of the infomercials w/ Chuck and Christy you'll get some good ideas from that.
