  • Anyone doing Les Mills classes?

I am doing Body Attack twice a week. I love it. I want to try Body Pump as well, but haven't gotten up the guts to do it yet. They also do Flow, Jam, Combat, RPM and others. I don't see Jam in my future because I don't dance unless I've had a few cocktails.

What about you guys? Have you done any of these classes? Which ones do you love and hate? I'd love to hear your input.

    Hi,

I used to do the BodyStep class. It was my favorite, but I love step classes. BodyPump is good. At my gym all of the people who took the BodyPump class were really fit, so it must work. I'm not a big fan of lifting, so I was never very consistant with it.

I would try all of the classes. Do what you like otherwise you won't stick with it.

This is funny - we are actually switching gyms so we can go to the Les Mills classes again (our old gym had them, but not the current one). I have never done BodyStep or BodyFlow. The rest I *LOVE*.

For Bodypump, I thought it would be really hard, but it was fantastic, and you get great results really quickly. BodyJam I thought I would fall over and injure myself or someone else, but I actually didn't, and you catch on pretty quickly. I still like real kickboxing better than BodyCombat, but it's still a good workout, just more dancy than I like my martial arts to be. RPM is *awesome*.

Don't be scared of BodyPump, if you're worried, just start with lower weights, and figure out what you can do, believe me, the results are worth it. Anyway, I would suggest trying them all out, you may figure out you really like something you didn't think you would. I can't wait to try Flow.

Yay! I'm so glad someone responded to my post. I think I see myself trying a Pump class in the near future. I am still liking Attack though.

I used to work with the girl who taught BodyAttack and BodyStep. She was nuts. :P I went to the class a couple times, and got my butt kicked. Pump and Attack balance each other out since one is cardio, one is strength training.

            Hey there!

Well I am a Les Mills FANATIC! Currently I do the following routine and the difference in my body is amazing, changing every day - toning in the right places!

            Monday - Body Attack
            Tuesday - Gym then Pilates
            Wednesday - Body Pump
Friday - Body Step then Body Pump

I Love BP - i started with really light weights and just after 5 week I am lifting as heavy as the regulars.....the best thing that has changed has been my chest and arms, you MUST give it a go - the music is birlliant too, really motivating. Dont be afraid to start light and your legs will KILL you after the first 2 classes, but stick with it and you will soon be an addict too I am sure!

            Best of Luck!

I do Body Pump 3 times a week, RPM twice a week minimum, LOVE the body combat, HATE body attack (because I suck at it!) and just tried Zumba tonight! It was so much fun! I want to try Body Jam too, looks like a blast.

I'm horrible at Zumba. It makes me feel like an idiot.
