Re: Pilates
I am doing pilates some days and I like it. Successful, you mean in terms of weight loss? I think any exercise is better than nothing. For me, it's hard to say how much pilates contribute... I also run, lift weights, play badminton."Get action. Seize the moment. Man was never intended to become an oyster."

Re: Pilates
I do pilates twice a week and it has changed the way my body looks completely. Underneath this blubber, I can feel that my arms and legs are as hard as rocks. I think that it will help me tremendously once the weight finally does come off. I cannot say enough good things about it.149.8/no weigh/ 119

1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:
rung 1 - more veggies
rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
rung 4 - berries, melon
rung 5 - wine -
rung 6 - beans, hummus
rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
(on to pre-maintenance)

Re: Pilates
I have been doing pilates on and off for four years and I have found it improves my posture and makes my weight lifting and walking more effective. My core strength is much improved (mainly because I hate ab work and pilates I find palatable). I have used DVDs but I find a small class is better because there are so many ways to do moves incorrectly and negate the benefit. A teacher will correct you and try to challenge you with each class. Definitely recommend it for toning. Although you probably won't see a huge difference in pounds lost, you will see it in your body shape.
