I find that I lose more weight on the days I don't workout. If I skip my workout for a couple of days I lose about a pound a day. Then on the days I workout I don't lose anything the next morning. What could this be?

Re: Anyone experience this
When you work the muscles hard...they tend to retain water to aid in their recovery. Recovery time is when they grow and build. Think of it like when you're working out, you're shredding your muscle and "breaking it down." When you enter your resting period, your muscles begin to try to recover from what you just put them through. It is during this time that they build and recover and strengthen. That was certainly not a scientific explanation but it's the best I can do in just a minute. Go to Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site. if you want to read the science end of it. My experience has been the same as you though. I can drop a pound or 2 if I don't work out, BUT I spend most days working something out!! I try to keep it to 2 rest days per week...tops.

Re: Anyone experience this
Yeah, if I'm sore from working out, I try to remember that I can gain about 5lbs just in water retention in muscles. It's miserable like that but the results are worth it.27/f/5'10"

Re: Anyone experience this
I've definately been experiencing this and it's very real. I have been lifting like a fiend lately and gained about 4 pounds. I've done about an hour in the weight room 5 of the last 7 days. I've been losing waist inches and feeling better, so I don't care about the few pounds. I know if I take a few days off I'll get a mega whooshie. Can I copyright that term, I kinda like the sound of that.
