  • Need an education on weight training

Educate me please --- I want to add weight training to my exercise routine, but how do I start? what exercises do I do? We have dumb bells, 1#, 5#, 10#, 20# sitting in our basement exercise alcove area --- I know I'm NOT going to start with the 20#'ers but what do I do with them? They're just sitting there, by my nordic trak --- ':smackhead' DH has a nordic trak weight resistance machine sitting there too that I've never used--embarrassed to say that (he doesn't use it either)':red'

Presently I'm running or swimming or on my nordic trak for 50 min a day, 4 or 5 days a week. I like the work-out, but would like to kick the exercise into a higher gear so that the weight comes off a bit faster and the body gets toned up a bit more.

    Thanks

    Carole

you can check the topic about which actual exercise works which muscle I posted and design your own program to work the muscle groups.

You should give your exercised bady part a day off after working it so many folk divid the program into upper and lower body and alternate them. SOme of us use the Body For Life lifting program you can view it on line or buy the book.

        Happy low carbing.
