  • Little bits throughout the day....

    Hi, i just wanted to get everyone's opinion on the way ive been working out. i have depression and sometimes for weeks or months i will just stay EXHAUSTED and have no stamina at all. So whereas i was trying to power walk/run 2 miles 3 or 4 times a week and then doing some weight lifting a few times a week along with crunches.
    but lately ive had one of my tired spells and i cant do anything for long periods. so today i did 10 minutes on the treadmill,then later i did 150 rows on the rowing maching and then this evening i did another 125 rows.
    do you think this is good enough? small workouts several times a day? thanks for your advise!

    I think 10 minutes if you get your heart rate up will make a difference. Keep things going. Do what you can? Are you getting any meds for your depression?

      You bet - it is definitely better than nothing. Exercise for 20-30 minutes at a time (min) is recommended as the best way to do heart/lung conditioning (cardio), but that doesn't mean that other exercise doesn't count. It all burns calories and develops muscle...keep it up! I know how hard it can be to get going when you feel that way - congrats on getting moving.

        yes LIV,i have been on MANY different meds for MANY yrs now. little help though
