  • I am exercising!!

I almost cannot believe it, I have been exercising. I am so stiff I can barely walk right now but I have been exercising for the past 3 days. 2 mile power walk on Saturday. Heavy duty uardwork on Sunday. 30 minutes dancing around Yesterday morning and a 2 mile walk yesterday afternoon. Now it's raining today so I may be limited to how much I can do today, but WOW is all I can say. Exercise has always been hard for me to commit to. I will be sitting there with plenty of time on my hands and tell myself I should but then the little lazy demon comes out and says but I am too tired. That demon came out yesterday afternoon but I didn't listen and I got up and did my walk. Betty had a little something to do with that. Her running always inspires me. :nod

Anyway I have gained back some of my lost weight but I am hoping that's just water and muscle and that the wooshie fairy come and takes it all away and then some. Not freaking out about it(ok maybe just a little)because I know it's a good thing!

woo hoo for you. Yep when you add exercise those muscle think something ois after you and it is a life threatinging emergency and they increase their stores of fluids anmounfg other things cause they just had a narrow escape for whatever it was that forced you to increase their workload like that. As soon as they realize that is the new normal load they will release those fluid stores and you will see scale numbers dropping. Keep making friends with your tapemeasure and after about a week of exericing you should see some nice changes coming your way!
Oh and get some foul weather gear so you can go all the time too.
      Happy low carbing.

          Good for you!!

I am no stranger to realizing I let the whole day go by and hadn't moved a muscle...exercise has been the biggest struggle for me.

Careful not to burn yourself out or injure yourself in your enthusiasm!

I started by walking 3 times a week, for a set amount of time. Walked 15 mins in any direction, then walked home...voila 30 min walk!
I started doing this faithfully Jan 31...and now I'm running 3k, 3 times a week!
Do whatever works best for you, but again, don't over do it.

            Excellent advice as always, Moochie!!

What you have accomplished is truly amazing!! And Sarah too!!

I'm proud of ALL OF US!!

            :nod

Well, the pain in my toe is a little better ... today was a rest day, so I bit the bullet (literally) and took a sterilized needle to my toenail ... :help Well, water gushed out of the teeny tiny hole .. so I am assuming it was blister UNDER THE NAIL?? Anybody heard of that before?? Goodness .. I couldn't believe how much came out. It hurts now, mainly from the needle I think (HOPE) so I am hopeful that by tomorrow's 8 miler, it will feel ALOT better. I think I'll go soak it for awhile, or do you think I should ice it??

IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?? :help :help

Give it a good shot of peroxide or alcohol (which I'm sure you've probably done) and maybe even soak it in some epsom salts.
Infection would be the biggest concern, especially since you've opened it up.
I would be tempted to ice it as well if it were my toe.

How did you do it? Was it just from running?

Thanks, Moochie! You are a wealth of great info!!

I've got the peroxide and I'm gonna use it!!

Yep, just from running ... I have increased my distance alot lately .. but its strange its just the big toe on ONE foot ... guess I'm thankful its not both feet, aye?

Sure looks ugly at the moment!

Thanks again! IT WILL NOT STOP ME FROM MY RUN TOMORROW!

Ok yesterday I did about 45 min- an hour of areobics. I feel less sore today than the last 3 so I know I am almost over the hump. I gained another pound and i feel fatter. I am hoping it's just water weight but i was wondering if anyone has any idea how long till my body gets it?

Sweetie, great job keeping up with the exercise! Don't fret NONE about the water weight .. your muscles are retaining it TEMPORARILY ... PERSIST with the exercise and the water weight will GO!! This is a perfectly normal thing ... just wait it out and keep burning those calories!!

                        YAY YOU!!

Thanks Betty, glad to hear your toe is better! I am going to stick with it and hopefully soon I will see the results. I am seeing results of my previous weeks of atkins so far. I am wearing these pants that are falling down so much I am afraid to get up out of my seat :yikes I either need to invest in some belts or give up on these pants. I am going shopping this weekend at the outlet mall in Silverthorn to buy myself and outfit that is one size too small. Sort of a reward for reaching a mini goal. I might even buy an out fit that fits just right too :yes

Alright one of those pounds disappeared. Maybe a few more will go over the next couple of days. It would be nice. I feel slimmer this morning, and definitely not as sore. I will be ready for the 10k on Memorial day! Anyway I would like to be able to keep posting my exercise here to keep me honest. Anyone have a problem with that?
