  • Jazzercise anyone?

    So, I have absolutely NO coordination, but decided to take a Jazzercise class to boost my weight loss. I had previously only been doing Wii Fit and Active exercises.

    Let me tell you how much fun I am having! The classes are great and I highly recommend them if you can find one near you. Their website has a class locater.

    Jazzercise is a mix of pilates, aerobics, boxing/kickboxing, dance, etc. For every work out, there are hi-impact or low-impact moves for every step you do. There is even a little weight training added with small dumbells (I use 2 pound weights).

    At first I was concerned, because I am not coordinated and had never had any kind of aerobic class. The first day I was amazed! The class has such a mix of people from their 20's to their 60's. There are people skinnier than me and heavier than me. The class is never the same, even with the same instructor. Yes, I still trip over my own feet sometimes, but not all of us get all the moves right either. I've been at it a month, going twice a week, and am getting much better! I've learned some of the moves and am doing more of them at hi-impact.

    So, check for classes near you, it might be the work-out that fits you!

    Hi Eliza, I know that Brooke, one of ADBB's longtime members at maintenance level, LOVES Jazzercise and is an Instructor. This summer I was torm between the gym and Jazzercies (could only afford one) so I took the gym but next year I may convert. It sounds wonderful!
