  • Exercise Question...

    I've read that the recommended exercise is to do 30 minutes of exercise where your heart rate is in your target zone for about 4 days a week to get optimum benefit. I was wondering if the 30 minutes has to be consecutive?

    For example some days I don't feel like doing the whole 30 minutes, or something comes up during exercise.... Could I come back later in the day and pick up where I left off?

    That would be just fine. A research program was completed and the results said that three 10 minute workouts a day were just as effective as one 30 minute workout. So do whichever works better for you. The total amount is what counts, not how long each session lasts. Hope this answered your question.

      and to ad to that you get better fat burning for 3 10a then one 30 because your body is reved up 3 times for post exercise burning instead of one time

      but that 30 min is just for heart health weight loss needs more time. the current minimum is 45 min.


      Oh and a new 6WEC is starting up tomorrow so quick get signed up so you can have some extra motivation to do your mandatory Atkins exercise as avioding a public slugging from skyye is a great motivation.

        Personally, I like the 30 minutes consecutive myself .. I feel so good hitting that 30 minute mark that I just keep right on going! Today I ran for over 2 hours!

        But then, I'm obsessed! :geek

          Betty, Ok thats it Im taking the motor out of my car and putting a harness in for you. Make me a flintstone car. Cheap on gas and good for the enviroment! I will even have a DANDR dangling from a stick to control direction!
