  • Its Taken 25 years!

But I have finally learnt to swim.

I first had swimming lessons when I was 7 at school. But I could never grasp it!

2 weeks ago when I was in Australia, I finally managed to get the hang of it. Its still a little rough around the edges but I can swim! Atlast!

Between the ages of 7 and 32 is a long swimming lesson!

    Thanks for reading

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

That's wonderful. It took my mother about that long to learn too. I love swimming! Enjoy yourself :yes

That's awesome. I can totally relate, too. I've just really learned how to swim within the last couple of months. I never had swimming lessons as a kid, but have always been really comfortable in water (I dive, snorkel, etc). I was always kinda self conscious because I never knew the proper strokes. Well, since I commtted myself to this triathlon thing, my friend and trainer got me into a pool and has been teaching me 'total immersion swimming'. I have to tell you, I'm not self conscious anymore, and go 2-3 times a week just because it's so fun!

Congratulations Rich, I should really go myself i've swam a few times but I absolutely hate the water, I think i'd end up drowning in an emergency.

I'm 42 ttdriver, if I can learn, anyone can. Check out total immersion swimming, it's awesome. It's like yoga in water. It's becoming very popular with triathletes because you concerve waaaaay more energy than a traditional front crawl so you can finish your swim and be at an advantage when hopping on your bike. It's also called 'fish-like swimming' because you use your arms and legs much less and use torque to propel your body through the water. It's really amazing. I was watching my friend swimming beside a guy who does iron man competitions. He was doing traditional front crawl, with fins on even for his training, and she was doing total immersion swimming. She wasn't beating him, however, she was keeping pace with him with about 1/3 fewer arm strokes and kicks. And he was wearing fins! I know, I'm like a kid in a candy store with all this new and wonderful stuff!
