  • Do you ever LAG??

I have been kicking but in the running department but now I am lagging in the Weight department. I am still doing it 3 days per week and running 3-4 days per week but, I don't feel like I am doing enough. I took yesterday off not cause I want to becuae I was too darn lazy and it sseems my day got in the way. Now I need all of you to help me get back here. Am I being too hard on myself it's not like I quit exercising maybe I am being silly but, this is real issue with me I am a pusher of myself and to see me not getting it done really bothers me. I know most of you probably say WOW you are doing great but, my standards are so high for myself I was lifting 5-6 days per week now it's only 3 and Jogging 3 days which I am still doing. I am very proud of my jogging accomplishments thought slow I still get it done.

I need to move on common everyone kick my but, I need it.

You know you can do this. I too have a lazy demon that pops up form time to tine. Ask your hubby to go with you or at least kick your *** to go do something. It's easy to get complacent. Our minds are not wired to go work our tails off without good reason. So you have to remind yourself of your progress and make it a good reason. You have come so far. Remind yourself of that and get on those sweats and go.

Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. Instead, try mixing up your workouts. Go swimming or ride your bike or take a nature hike. Just try something different, it will use different muscles and break up the monotony of just jogging and lifting (which are great BTW).

I'm going swiming tonight instead of going to the gym :yes

CAN YOU BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF WHEN IT COMES TO STICKING TO PLAN AND EXERCISING? My answer to that is NO.

Sure, we all have a bazillion excuses/distractions in our lives to take our eyes off the goal. It takes 100% effort to stay focused, driven, determined.

Sarah, if ANYONE I know has what it takes, ITS YOU. You are a constant motivation and inspiration to me and I've been in lifetime maintenance for nearly 3 years!

So, my question to you is, HOW BAD YOU WANT IT? Bad enough to quit making excuses/rationalizations for not doing it?? Bad enough to put other things aside to DO IT??

I know my own life is CRAZY right now. I am slammed at work beyond belief. I'm TRYING to make a comeback from a bout with serious depression and the doctor has ordered me NOT to work more than 15 hours a week. Make me laugh. I put in 16 hours in less than 2 days this week and a heckuvalot more work yet to be done. BUT .. will that work interfere with my running? Absolutely not. See, the running is key to keeping the STRESS under control. Stress is inevitable to ALL OF US; but we who are avid exercisers know that working through that stress is much easier with exercise. Not to mention keeping your weight under control. IF YOU DON'T MOVE, NEITHER WILL THE SCALE. HELLO?? Are you getting this yet?

Sure, I can lecture you until I'm blue in the face, but it won't do a bit of good until YOU make up your mind and dig deep within yourself and find that motivation to get it done. I come back to my original question:

        HOW BAD YOU WANT IT?

Good, now get out there and do it.

Betty, I knew you would kick my but, I am not having any problem going and running it seems it's the lifting weights that has me realling out of control. I am still exercising like 5 days per week so in no way am I not doing it I just am not doing as much as I did here 2 weeks ago. I am not lifting weights as much which bothers me. NO EXCUSE!! I will go down and kick my own but in gear. Thanks everyone.
