  • EA Sports Active - Wii

    Hi Everyone!

Am just curious if anyone has the EA Sports Active game for the Wii? If so, how do you like it?

I'm thinking about purchasing one tomorrow and wanted to see if it really gives a great workout.

Thanks in advance for all of your replies

I have it. I think it is a good work out. It has premade workouts or you can build your own.

My issue with it is that I find the leg strap a tiny bit annoying. I can deal with that but my other problem is the sensor. It might be the way I have the leg strap, my sensor, my TV...I don't know. But I will do an exercise and it doesn't sense it correctly...which then frustrates me. I don't have that problem with Wii Fit so I just tend to find that "easier" to do.

It is definitely more of a workout than Wii Fit.

i find it to be a kick-butt workout.
i did the half hour pre-programmed hard workout tonight after my run and the jump lunges and jump squats were B.R.U.T.A.L.

i really enjoy tough workouts tho.

Re: EA Sports Active - Wii

I am loving exercise for once in my life with the Wii EA Active: More Workouts! The only thing was that I did not buy the resistance band or leg strap I just had a feeling that I would not fit the leg strap. I heard a lot of people had a hard time with it. The EA Active Community forum had wonderful people who showed their own inventions for holding the nunchuk and I took ideas from there. First I bought a Gold Gym resistance band for $7 at Walmart. As for the "leg strap" I used safety pins to secure a small organza bag (which is used to put candies and nuts for weddings, etc) close to the top of the thigh on a snug sweatpants, placed the nunchuk inside, and pulled the organza bag string. Wow, it works wonderfully!

Another thing about the game is that it is not boring and that I can do these exercises anytime I please be it 0430 in the morning or 1230 at night.

I have it and like it. My only issue is with the resistance bands which really have very little resistance to them. I have to fold them in various ways to get them to a point that they take a strong effort to use. I'll buy more soon and other then that the program is great, I really enjoy it.

Grant you can buy other resistance bands from a fitness store.
they go all the way up to a 20 lb resistance (if not more). the one that is supplied with the wii is like, 2 lb or maybe 5lb tops.

              Hey there,
I have both EA Active and Active more workouts! Personally I LOVE more workouts! Its alot of fun, with many many different w/o's that target every single part of your body! Yesterday I did the 30 min advanced step class with the balance board and while its not anything like an actual step class, you still get one **** of a w/o
I am doing the 6 week challenge and everyday its different, targeting diff muscle groups. I am seeing definition and some major differences in my arms legs and butt
I would recommend you get a better fitness band though, I started out with the one that comes in the box, but went out and got a professional one, and my god its great!
Anyways...if you want to workout at home and have fun with it than I definitely recommend this game

It will take alot of motivation to turn it on though
              Lol
              Good luck!

HW-162/SW-152/CW-140/GW-130...and than some later if needed!

              First goal met 10lbs down
now on for the next 10

                That's the truth!!
