  • Wii Fit Age?

For those that Wii Fit, how does your Wii Fit age compare to your actual age? I'm really just curious as myself and my kids have done it and gotten some suprising results. I tend to think that the balance tests are more geared towards a female's center a gravity than a males. Let me explain, I'm 44 (will be 45 in a little over a month) and in the four days I've done it, my Wii Fit ages have been 44,43,36 & 27 and it says I'm in good shape despite the fact that my BMI is over 36. My young, thin, athletic sons with BMI's between 17-19 who are ages 14-24 got Wii Fit ages between 27-43 and it told them they are weaker than they should be. That's a joke, my boys are all very strong and into Extreme Sports very heavily so they have to have good balance and coordination as well.

My daugher who is 7 has tried it twice, the first time she got a Wii Fit age of 36 and the second time 7 (her actual age). I'm just thinking if her and I can get our actual age (or below) and told we are in good shape and the boys can't, these balance games must not be intended for the male center of gravity, does that make sense?

      Re: Wii Fit Age?

My Wii fit age varies by quite a bit. It really depends on what "tests" I get, how well I know them, how tired I am, etc. I like having a "young" age but it isn't something I take too seriously. Its like when the Wii trainer tells me I am doing good, then a few seconds later tells me I am wobbly. lol

        Re: Wii Fit Age?

I think I've been everywhere from 27 to 60 something...and I'm 50. I do find that I have a tendency to flip off the game when I'm over my real age

I hate it when I get the balance one - stand in the middle, on one leg...COME ON - that's just silly!

        but it's fun...

          Re: Wii Fit Age?

When I watch the boys do the balance games it reminds me of that old trick (does anyone remember?)...... It goes something like this, the woman bends over and puts her head on the wall, feet seperated and lifts a chair that is sitting there, then she steps back and asks a male to repeat it. Inevitably the male can't do it. It's said to demonstrate the difference between the male and female center of gravity. I can't remember if there is more to it than that, but that's what I remember.

So I'm thinking that if my boys have enough balance and coordination for extreme biking, skateboarding, snowboarding ect, maybe they shouldn't try adjusting their balance on the wii as maybe it will actually throw them off balance if it isn't geared to their center of gravity. Anybody have any thoughts on this or any males use the wii fit and have any insight?
