  • **DOES ANYONE ROLLERBLADE?**

    Hi Folks, :wave

    Does anyone here RollerBlade?

I was always god awful at it, but loved the idea of it. Last night I found a pair of skates that I bought when weighed about 180 to give you an idea how long ago that was!

But they're in mint condition I wore them maybe once and I'm tempted to get back out there and try again, although the thought of 277 pounds hitting the pavement has me saying ouch! at Just the thought of it.

It's always something I've wanted to master, but my balance is awful though always will be.

I enjoy rollerblading but I SUCK really bad. Actually I am ok at rollerblading except for stopping which I would say is pretty darn important. Need to get a set though in order to do it. Would be a great thing to work on this summer.

Ya I haven't rollerbladed in about 2 years drug mine out and went for 1.5 hours last night. WOW it was awesome the first little while I thought my feet were going to fall off but, as I went longer it was better and better and my feet didn't hurt any more. I finally knew I was done when my ankles gave out and I was having problems getting going. Now today I am sore as **** but, I'd do it again it was soo much fun how awesome.

Oh, I can't stop worrth a crap either I need to learn how to stop so I don't kill someone LOL.

I haven't rollerbladed in at least 6 years but I think I just might go out and grab a pair that would be a nice workout and pretty fun with all the hills around my area. Seems like it'll be great for you Peter just watch out for that road rash!

That's GREAT I should do the same but I don't think Id make it half as long as you did! I was awful at it but I sure remember the sheer fun of it and how great it felt (except hitting the ground!) If your skates are hurting your feet you can get a pair of those sole inserts skiers put in their boots, Sorry I forget the name but any ski/sports shop should have em'

I was reading that the best way to stop is to put your brake foot out like "you just slipped on a banana peel" and apply pressure to the brake till you start to slow down. I also read something about skating "like there's an invisible ceiling above you thats six inches to low", so if your crouched down just a bit it's easier to find and keep your center at the core of your body

I still have the knee and wrist guards so, I think I'm going to find myself flat surface with no hills (yikes) and get started.

64oz - You should definitely do it, it'll add a whole new dimension to your work out, plus you'll have a blast. You're right about that road rash yeeeowch..but it's great fun

So if there's an earthquake this weekend no one worry it's just me learning how to brake again.

            LOL@peter!

I love to roll, but it's so darn cold I haven't been able to put my winter clothes away and take my skates out :raving .
But it is so much fun in summer...
Altho - not good in stopping either - I always drive off-road to stop lol.
