    Hello!
I've started going to Aqua Aerobics on Wednesdays with a friend, I love it! I'm not a friend of the gym or swimming, so this is really working for me.
I'm considering doing Salsa on Mondays and Belly dance on Fridays. What do you think about the amount of exercise I'll get from this? I need to lose quite a bit of weight, but I know that if i put too much pressure on me I will give up as I have always done!
I'd like to know your opinion on these low impact exercises and see if it works for any of you.
    Thanks you!!

    Hi,
Not sure if you will call your Salsa and Bellydance low impact. You will have to see after the class is over. Depends on the instructor.

(Unless you work out hard core, then they might be considered low impact.)

I go to Bellydancing and Zumba, (Zumba includes salsa and many other Latin music and moves.) Let me tell you...when those classes are over, everyone is sweating and exhausted!!! Not just me, a 50+ still heavy gal, even the young gals who are skinny as a rail! WE ARE MOVING AND WORKING HARD!

And best of....we all have a GREAT TIME!!! And that is the type of exercise you will stick with!

      Re: Dancing as exercise

I joined a gym in January that does Zumba, I've been thinking about joining. Will definitely check out a class or two now!

I've also wanted to learn swing for EONS!!! I guess I should probably get into a little better shape first

Dancing is excellent exercise. Plus, it is fun! I do Zumba and Wii Just Dance.
