We all know that what works for one person doesn't necessarily mean it will work for others. So, I want to know what fitness routines have worked for your lifestyle. Do you work out at home? What equipment do you use? Or does going to a gym motivate you more? How do you make it fun?

Re: What exercises do you do at home?
hi
I've started using the E.A.Sports Active for Wii. I really like it and read a lot of good reviews about it as opposed to Wii Fit. There's a 30 day program you can do and they change up the routine so it's not boring. My butt is killing me from all the lunges actually. You do have to buy the accessory package which kind of sucks, but I did it and am glad I did.
As well I have a big dog who needs to be run, so I get out and walk him daily. I would really like to buy a bike too. I'm not much of a swimmer, but I have taken aquafit classes and they're fun too...gets you moving anyways. I snowshoe in the winter, but our snow is melting now so that's done. I think a variety of activities is good.

Re: What exercises do you do at home?
I'm not a big fan of exercise in general, so I like to do something that doesn't take too much time. Driving to the gym, changing, working out, changing...driving home - WAY too long for me.
I like to work out at home - I often jump on the stationary bike while dinner is in the oven or do stuff on the wii while something is defrosting. I also have dogs, so walking them is a priority (and fun too
). I parked my stationary bike right in the living room so I can watch tv while I ride.
For motivation, I joined exercise challenges on this board - I find it really helps keep me accountable

Re: What exercises do you do at home?
I love the gym. I have no real upper body strength and bad joints so I do a lot of weight lifting these days, gently, to build up the muscles around the joints and build strength. I love the days I have to up the weights because its gotten too easy. I keep an exercise journal so I can see how far I've come.
As for cardio, the Eliptical really kicks my butt and gets my heart going. It also helps burn insane calories. If I can get through 30 minutes I KNOW I've gotten a fabulous cardio workout.
At home I tend to use my Turbo Jam dvds from Beachbody because they are fun and they really get you sweating. Comcast also has a whole group of shows of exercises so I sometimes do a pilates show or a yoga show. I try to keep it different each week.Bellajgw aka Jacqui
