  • Need Help Starting CKD and is it right for me ?

    Hey guys n Gals

    History:
I used to weight train heavy and gained a lot of mass, but Also got fat in the process. I guess I didn't balance my nutrition and ate too much. I did that out of fear that I wouldn't gain if i didn't eat enough.

Anyways i did not like the way I looked, and I did atkins, since November 21. When I started i was 186 and now I am 159. I am beginning to see my top to abdominal muscle, and have fat covering the lower half. I guesstimate that if i loose another 5-8 lbs ill have a flat stomach.

Question 1: Is this a good time to start the CKD diet ?
Question 2: Could someone recommend a beginners routine, should i do splits or full body routine?
Question 3: just need some information about how I can do this, what I need to be carefull how to be successful ?

I think you should probably try to ask a trainer or on a body builder site. We really go with Atkins here and few people are that familiar with CKD. So start researching a find a good place to go.
You can maybe send neutronorman an email or PM and see if he has any pointers. I think was doing CKD last year

This is a perfect time to start the CKD diet. I've been using CKD to cut (and bulk sometimes) for a few years and it really is successful.

Do a full body routine or a split is entirely up to you, whatever you feel best with. I personally use a split and go to the gym about 3-4 times a week.

Just remember to not carb up to often and eat very strict atkins >20carbs a day.

I personally eat carbs every 10 days or so and it works out great. I generally don't eat the cleanest carbs either and it doesn't stall me, however that might not be true for everyone.

I could easily see you losing that weight in 3-4weeks.

CKD is a cyclic ketogenic diet. Basically you put your self into keto from about 5 - 10 days then you eat carbs. People who use the CKD diet have to be weight training, when weight training you pretty much need to eat carbs after a certain point because your glycogen stores are depleted and you lose strength. Its a really good diet for people who work out.
