  • Personal Trainer Consultation???

Hey all, was wondering if i could get some help? I have started working out these past two days and i am doing good. I was talking to a friend and she informed me that if i really want to make a physical change fast she recommended me looking for a personal trainer to do a consultation with. I dont have money to spend for a personal trainer and thats why she recommended me to look for some one to have a consultation with. You know so they can help me look at my body and see what i need to work on and talk to me about what i want worked on the most etc, etc. And then i go to it at my apt. 24 hr club house gym by myself. Is there some one on here who can help me mabey look at a picture i have in the before and after picture forum and discuss this with me. Or mabey even reommend a website.
My friend asked me what i was doing and i told her i was just gonna to the elliptical trainer for 3-4 miles a day 6-7 day a week. She informed me that if i do it its good but i will end up at a plateau and it will take me longer to lose the weight and see the changes in my body. Can someone help me out on a good exercise routine that i can do. I was really gonna aim doing the elliptical trainer everyday. And i dont like weight lifting, i have a big body already. Even when i was thin in high school i had broad shoulders and muscles in my legs. Please help. I really dont want to spend money or if i do mabey no more that 50 bucks but thats like what can i get for 50 bucks? Anyway please help, i would appreciate anything anyone can give me.

It sounds like you have your mind made up to not do weight training.

I hate to tell you, but most personal trainers will be advising that in addition to your cardio, you need to do some weight training.

Cardio will give you results. Basically, if you look like a fat pear now, you will look like a skinnier pear. You should add weight training so that your shape changes.
