  • Did you ever......

get really tired by the end of the week after doing your workouts?

    Hi guys....haven't posted in awhile!

I'm finding that come Friday my body just feels really tired and I don't have it in me to run my 4.6 setting on the treadmill....instead I walked 3.8

It's a little frustrating because I'm going full speed ahead during the week.....here's what my wrkout looks like:

    M: morning 30 min - treadmill
    afternoon 30 min - treadmill

Tu: Strength training - 30 min

    W: morning 30 min - treadmill
    afternoon 30 min - treadmill

Th: Strength training - 30 min

    F: morning 30 min - treadmill
    afternoon 30 min - treadmill

Sat: Tae Bo - 30 min

Yup...there's been weeks when it's "just not happening". Sometimes that indicates I need a change in my routine, others it just seems to be a reflection of other events in my life.

Either way, you need to listen to your body and adjust a bit. I don't know what your treadmill routine utilizes (reading, watching TV, music, meditation) but a fresh one often revitalizes my interest.

You might want to put some floorwork in your routine also, either at the beginning or end of one of your treadmill sessions. Working on your core muscle groups helps all others.....

Wow, you are doing 2 cardio sessions per day. Impressive.

Don't be hard on yourself at all. In fact, it may be possible that you are doing TOO MUCH exercise.

are you really physically tired or just menatally tired? Is your thursday Strenght training lower body?
I know after my lower body workouts when I hit the treadmill my legs say no way!!!! and i barging with them just 5 min warm up and then 12 min of cardio and I keep telling myself just a few min longer till I get to 30 By about 20 min I'm feling much better. If I get distracted during the cardio I can easily do the entire 30 min without bargining with my legs at all.

Thanks Qjkal.....I'm usually reading the "gossip trash" (i.e. Star, Us Weekly, etc.) while running....lol.....keeps me motivated of wanting to look like a celebrity....lol

And you know what, Snorkelman? That's what I'm afraid of the most---doing too much exercise!!!! Now I've heard a personal trainer say that there is such a thing as too much cardio....then I heard him say cardio shouldn't last more than 30 minutes a day....and of course I do an hour....but I really need to drop the fat and that's what gets rid of that.....I hate that....as soon as you get in the cardio, it's too much....lol

Hey 2big4mysize! I'm really physically tired! My body just doesn't feel like it.....I'm not mentally tired because I hardly ever get bored on the treadmill....there's jammin' music playing and I've got my "gossip trash" reads.....I'm good....it's just that today my body felt like KUPUTZ.....

A coworker of mine said I may want to look into some kind of supplement to fight the fatigue that my muscles are feeling.....I get so much different advice it's hard to tell what to do!!! But thanks to everybody! :wave

I usually throw my "day off" into the middle of the week. On weekends I find that mentally I have more energy for some reason so having a mid-week break splits it up enough that I do not feel as tired. You just need to adjust your routine a little bit to where you are comfortable. If you keep feeling burned out week after week eventually you may give up. A little less exercise is better than quitting. Maybe friday do one 30 minute cardio session and some ab work than call it a day.
