  • Walk Away The Pounds - Exercise DVD's

Does anyone else do these DVD's? It's with Leslie Sansome. I love them! I read on epinions and amazon a lot of reviews, all were great reviews but they said that she was a little too "chatty" during the DVD's. I don't think so at all! She definitely keeps me motivated to get through the workouts.

I never really have exercised much before, so I bought the 3 WATP workout DVD. The 1st workout is 15 minutes and it's a 1 mile walk. The 2nd is 30 minutes and it's a 2 mile walk. And the 3rd is 45 minutes and it's a 3 mile walk. You just walk in place the entire time, doing knee crunches/lifts, side steps, kicks, you carry 2 lb weights and do curls and push ups (or whatever they're called), etc. It's a great workout and you really feel the burn!

I did the 1 mile walk for a week, and this week I started doing the 2 mile walk. It's such a good workout I am sweating my butt off by the time I'm done and I really feel stronger already!

You need to get 2lb hand weights, they use specific ones in the video's but you can just use ANY 2lb hand weights - I got mine at Walmart.

It's such a great workout and it's fun and she keeps you motivated throughout the workout, and the hand weights really make it so you're working everything.

I'm hoping to move up the the 3 mile in the next couple of weeks. I have so much more energy now since starting this workout, I highly recommend it to anyone!

Re: Walk Away The Pounds - Exercise DVD's

I ordered mine from Amazon.com and they took forever and a day to finally get it. I was so bummed. I got Walk Away the Pounds Express, which is 4 miles.

I have been severely disabled for 10 years--have been wheelchair bound, then walked with a walker, then with two quad-canes. About the time they gave me a prescription for those canes like polio victims use (metal clamp on the arms attached to metal canes) I got tired of it and decided to get rid of them all. I started by getting a bunch of weight off, then very gentle chair exercise video for disabled people. Soon, I was walking most places cane free. I started to lift weights, only 2-pounds at first, but I got a lot stronger, fast.

It still wasn't safe for me to excercise walk outside, so I started hearing about the WATPs videos and ordered it. It took 11 weeks to get it and by then I was more than ready. I couldn't believe how fast I progressed all the way to 4 miles, plus stretches and cool down! I did find her Jersey girl accent, cackle laugh and chatter a little off-putting at first, but it finally grew on me! I loved that video. Soon, I was doing that every other day and walking up to 45 minutes outside every other day!

Fast forward several months. More health problems. Different body parts. I had several doctors and surgeons tell me I wasn't allowed to do any kind of exercise at all. That was the last day of February. I have been having all kinds of treatments and finally surgery on October 17th and the surgeon said I could start exercising gently the last week of November. I was feeling much better at the first of the week, so me being me, I started back doing the WATPs video and I'm back up to two miles already! I love it so much! My body is remembering the moves, just like I didn't have to take a 9- month break.

I'm back to my 2-pound weights, but I'm doing them again, too. I never liked to do any exercise except walk outside. I can't believe this couch potato missed exercise so much. I was happy as a clam, today, to make it to 2 miles and walked outside for 25 minutes.

I realize that you posted this a long time ago, but I was glad to see someone else that liked the videos!

    Sunny!
