  • Treadmill for Christmas

I decided to get a treadmill for the family. I think it will be a good thing to get the boys active on it. My middle son, Jacob, is overweight. I look at him and feel so guilty.

I read reviews on this treadmill..ProForm i-Series 785 E Treadmill....it seems to have gotten good ones.

Has anyone heard of it or any of the ProForm's? I should receive in 1-2 weeks.

Anyway, figured it would make a good gift for all of us.

    Hi Debie,
I too have an overweight son Armando age 6 and I feel guilty as well. How old is Jacob it u dont mind me asking? I'm thinking of putting him on Atkins but I have to inform myself first. I'm sure Induction wouldnt be appropriate but I dont know what I'm going to do. If u have any advice I would really love to hear it. And good for u on the treadmill I have on at home and it's so convenient. Hope to hear from u soon Maria

Jacob is 11. I need to take him to my doctor and see what she says on the best approach. I plan on doing that next week. I will let you know what she says.

Congratulations Debie. I think that is a wonderful gift. I think I read somewhere that people who own treadmills are fitter than people who don't. Not sure why that is

          Re: Treadmill for Christmas

Debbie I have a Proform Crosswalk and I love it. I did alot of research on line before I purchased since it's a fairly big purchase, and I saw they get pretty good reviews compared to some twice the price.

I find I just use the manual settings the most (did the same with gym treadmills) and i don't really use the preset programs so they weren't a selling feature for me. The one thing mine has that I love are 'crosswalk arms' which are like the moving arms of an eliptical, it sort of mimics x-country skiing. You don't have to use them their just an option.

this is the one I bought, it was $500 cdn.
