  • Should I purchase this treadmill?

    ProForm ProForm CrossWalk® 380 - Model 24803 at Sears.com

I am 265ish pounds and the weight limit is 250 pounds on this model. It is 150.00 bucks off right now and I figure if I can get it and wait a bit to hit 250. 350.00 bucks is a great deal! Plus, I've read the reviews on a few sites and it seems to be a rather nice treadmill.
My worry is that even at 250 pounds the hp won't be high enough to carry my weight. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

    Thanks.

Re: Should I purchase this treadmill?

Learning from experience, I had a treadmill that I was too heavy for and the belt would kind of stick when I took a step.

I just ordered a great treadmill from HSN at a really great price. It is a Pro-Form too. I looked on the website and it's twice as much there, but if you go to HSN.com, it's only 650.00 with free shipping.

Here is the link if you want to check it out...I don't know how much you were looking to spend, but if you want to get a treadmill, it's better to get a nice one not only for performance, but because you are more apt to use it if it's "pretty".

    Good luck!

      hey!
Thanks for your opinion..I think you are right about the belt sticking if I was right on the edge of the weight requirement. I found one at sears that is on sale and a great deal.

      I'm going with this one:
      ProForm XP CrossWalk® 580 - Model 24865 at Sears.com

400.00 off and a the weight maximum is 300. Plus higher HP and such. Wish me luck.

Re: Should I purchase this treadmill?

I have this treadmill..as a matter of fact just got off it 5 mins ago! lol.

Proform have pretty good reviews, i looked into a quite a bit before I purchased, I have had it about a year now and am reallyhappy with it. and the 'arms' are a great feature, they give you an added workout. and it's quite sturdy IMO.

I checked the reviews on sears as well before i purchased and other people that bought it were very happy as well.

There are a few things you need to consider when buying a treadmill, one is cooling: ie is it fan cooled, and the HP of the motor. These you will need to consider especially if you are a distance runner, or plan to be, or how fast you will run. I only run 5 k a few times a week and i'm a slower running so having a 10hp treadmill wasn't a necessity.

A friend of mine has that treadmill and she says she loves it too! So I'd go with that one too. It's a great deal for what you get!

I have a ProForm and absolutely love it! I can't remember what model it is and I'm at work right now (obviously working very hard) so I can't look at it, but it looks similar to the picture.
I WILL learn to feel comfortable in my own body again!

LOL the assembly is the worst! My husband and I nearly had to call a divorce lawyer during the assembly of mine..luckily we finally figured it out!
