  • Gazelle Edge by Tony Little

    Hi
I am trying to put together a small gym in my house because it is just to cold for me to take my walks outside ... Does anyone have a Gazelle Edge by Tony Little ? I found one for half price and would really like to get it if it does what it says it will . But I do want to make sure it is something I will like and it does burn the calories . So if you do have one can you please give me some feedback on it . Also my room is pretty small but I would like to add a few more things to it , so any suggestions would help . I am on my 1 month of Atkins today and loving every minute of it . So please help me to continue on my journey . Thank you Rhonda
PS not sure if I posted this in the right place , but hey I am just learning ....

I don't have one. There is a gazelle challenge thread in the exercize forum. You can perhaps pop in there and ask them.

I'll move this thread to the exercise equipment forum.

      Hello

I found one of these on Craigslist for 50 dollars. It is the nice one with resistance and such. Personally, I do not use it all that often. My husband and I both don't like it.

It will get you sweating but I find I cannot stay on because it makes me lightheaded. It is odd, really. I've been on an elliptical machine and not had the problem with feeling lightheaded.

I should note that I love being on treadmills and elliptical machines...I'm not sure what it is about the gazelle. Now, my treadmill, when folded up, takes up the same amount of room that the gazelle does. Actually, I got the gazelle for the same reason you did, too cold or hot to walk. I do not think it is anything like walking. I like to walk for lengths of time and found myself only staying on the gazelle for 20-25 minutes before having to get off.

If you are adamant about getting a gazelle, I would check craigslist. I have seen the higher end model on there plenty of times for very cheap.

One other thing, my gazelle is loud. The right foot clicks every time that I move it. I've done everything I can, other than replace it, to make it stop clicking. I've read online that a lot of other people have had the same problem with them.

I use my gazelle about 500-600 minutes a week. Its great for low impact cardio. I didnt like it at first because I never felt like it did anything for me, but that was because I was like swinging around and not really trying.
I do it correctly now, and it works -everything- below the waist. after a couple days, my calves, knee flexors, quads, hamstrings, hip abductors, and even my arms and shoulders all are sore. every day. it gets my heart up to about 70% with moderate effort, and more in shorter more intense intervals.

            Gaffe
I did what you said and found one for 40 bucks . I am kinda like you and get a little light headed but I think that will work out because I had just started some new meds when I was on it . I will start back on it and take the advise of kibskix and see what happens . I do love some CL though as I found a free treadmill that was broken so I got it and it was almost new they were throwing to the curb ( 2 weeks old ) I got it home and checked it out and all it was , was the switch was broken costed 2.99 plus tax to fix yay me . So I have 6 pieces of equipment all bought off CL for under 100 dollars if bought new it would have been pretty close to 5 or 6 . So I need to get my butt in gear and get back to using it . Spring is here and I am ready to go . Rhonda
