  • Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred

    Okay, so I'm wondering if anyone has used Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred workout video? I've read a number of reviews on it and everything I've read has had people saying what a wonderful tape it is. Before I drop the $ on it I wanted to see if anyone here had any first hand experience with it, as that would be greatly appreciated!

    I have tried the free short version. Our cable has a free exercise TV and I tried it out. It kicked my butt!! I loved it. I have worked out with it about 4 times and everytime, it makes me sweat. Evertime I wanted to give up, it was like she knew, and i just had to get to the end. I love it!!!

      Thanks Tammy! That is the same kind of stuff everyone else was saying with the reviews on the Target and Best Buy websites...and that is the kind of stuff I love to hear!

        I started using it via cable on demand (they had levels 1 and 2) and loved it so much I went out and bought the dvd. It does kick your butt, I'm still working on level 2 at the moment and haven't tried level 3. Tammy is so right about Jillian knowing just when you are ready to give up and giving you the motivation. I feel it so much more doing that work out compared to my days I do cardio and strength at my gym. Definitely worth adding to your collection!

              Hi Ryan,

              I never used that one but I suppose most all will work if people followed them.
              For me I use the treadmill with light hand weights 6 days a week, and do
              moderate lifting 3 times a week and rest on Sunday.

              I hope it works for you, just do not go all out the first day and wake up
              the next morning to sore to do it again..

                Okay, well I ran out and bought this on Thursday night. That evening I just watched it to see what level 1 was like, and I sat here thinking "That doesn't look too bad. I can probably do that pretty easily!" All I can say is WOW. After trying it for the first time yesterday morning that is pretty much all I can say. I barely made it through the first circuit before I felt like giving up, but like most others have said Jillian is very encouraging and I felt I had to keep going. It was incredibly difficult for me, but I did make it through the entire first level with minimal issues. My whole body is aching today, but it is a good ache! Thanks to everyone for the input and if anyone is looking for a video to spice up their routine I recommend this one very highly.

                Only problem I have is how she refers to her viewers as "ladies"...makes me feel just the slightest bit awkward. LOL!

                    Get ready for it to kill ya...but just as she says, you will notice a drastic difference from day 1 to the end of the week. I highly recommend this workout if you don't have time to spend at the gym for an hour+ 5 days a week

                      Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread. I <3 Jillian, and have since before her days on the Biggest Loser. She's really fantastic and knows how to kick your tush. If you guys are looking for another DVD/Set, P90X is incredible as well.

                        Yea, I figured I'd do Jillians Shred first and then look into P90X...When I wake up in the morning I'm always watching the ads for P90X...looks pretty intense. Will hopefully be the next step once I get rid of some of this "cushion"

                              i finally got it! did the first one day and i love how quickly it gets your heart rate up! i did my regular gazelle workout right after and doing jillians workout first kept my heartrate up longer and higher than if i'd just used the gazelle alone. she kills my shoulders, eep!
