Have him read this article. It really opened my eyes and now I feel I can clearly see the great value and health benefits of eating this way. I'm also quite healthy after eating this way for 2 1/2 years and my doctor is very supportive.

Just an fyi, this isn't a no carb diet (a no carb diet *would* be unhealthy). This is where alot of misconceptions of Atkins come from. Many people do Atkins wrong, even when they do actually read the book. That's why ADBB is so awesome.

We Atkineers eat carbs, just good healthy carbs from veggies. That's where most of your carbs should come from. You can live quite fine on less than 50 carbs per day (that's net carbs, not total carbs) and less. I"ve been doing it for 2 years and have never been healthier in my life.

            Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
            Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

            Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
            Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
            Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
