I was just wondering why they're unhealthy. I avoid them like the book says, but I was wondering what they do. Do they just cause stalls or is there something worse too?

They are reported to be a carcinogen. What quantities are needed to be dangerous has never been established as far as I know. Elimination of them is really a personal decision. I just haven't been convinced that they were that dangerous yet in light of everything else.Kent - 35-M-6'4"

I try not to use them at all because I get migraine headaches from foods with nitrates..I think anything in moderation is ok but if you eat anythinig every day it is not good for youComment

nitrates are carcinagines and carcinagines cause free radicals and free radicals lead to cancer.
I don't eat hot dogs and my bacon is all naturall. But if I did eat hot dogs I would only eat them once a month.Make it a happy low carb life!
