  • Water!!

I recently went to my doctor and we were discussing my weight. I mentioned proudly that I only drink water with the very occasional diet drink maybe once a week. She was very pleased and gave me a hand out on water. When I read it I could not believe I was not drinking enough water! It said you should drink 8-8oz. glasses a day if you are of a healthy weight. If you are over weight you should drink 8 more oz. for every 25 lbs. you need to lose. I need to lose a lot so now I am drinking tons of water! I even go over my limit and dring about 1 gallon a day. It was not as hard and I thought it would be to get the water in. Just thought I would share with you guys.

Yes Teach, that is one of the methods used here to decipher you water count. Another used is to drink half of your body weight in water. Think most people here try to get at least 100 ounces in a day. You need to increase it if you are a heavy exerciser also.
    Good luck!

I drink at least 100oz a day, it makes you feel so good!! It flushes all the bad stuff out. I don't drink anything but water, and I don't even crave anything else. Its amazing how this way of eating changes you!! Good for you on upping the water intake!
What would we do without it?

        Re: Water!!

Water is essential! (Can you tell from my user name I'm a big fan?)

I'll share my trick for making sure I drink enough: every day I start out with a fresh 16-ounce bottle. When I finish it, I make a mark with a Sharpie and then refill. At the end of the day, I should have at least five marks on the bottle.

        chug it, baby!

The advice I've received is 50 percent of your body weight in ounces if you aren't active and 75 percent if you are.

            Re: Water!!

            I love water

my kids went from the breast to water and still drink it above anything else!

it does so many good things for you and it goes with everything you eat!

there is no excuse not to drink water and I think it is wonderful your doctor advised you to keep it up and drink more!

it really does all it is touted to do
            quenches thirst
combats fatigue and keeps your energy up
            keep your tummy full
            keeps headaches at bay
            helps prevent constipation
            does not rot your teeth
            good for your skin
good for your body in general
it is free and plentiful most anywhere ...the bennies go
on and on and on ....
there is no good excuse imho for not consuming lots of it!!!

            I agree here chug away

            good for you!!!!
