I think I'm drinking too much water. I don't officially keep count, but I'm thinking I'm at least in excess of 200 ounces a day. I drink whenever I'm thirsty, and I'm thirsty all the time! But then satiating the thirst makes me feel heavy and sort of gross and bloated, and I'm STILL thirsty. I'm not sure what to do. I just had a blood workup done and I don't think I have diabetes (this is the only thing on the web I can find). Suggestions?

Re: Too Much Water?
If your thirsty, don't ignore it. It's not perfect, but thirst is a good indicator of how much water your body needs.
As to why you're so thisrty, it could be a lot of things: muscle hydration, warm weather, or hopefully it's a prelude to a whooshie.Robbie T., 240/180/160. 41yr Male, Height 5'9"

Re: Too Much Water?
At several points along my journey, I had to cut back the amount of water I was drinking. Being small-boned, I just couldn't drink more than 64 oz a day or I'd feel VERY BLOATED and actually end up feeling HUNGRIER than normal. Ain't that weird??
I did best when I drink around 48 oz .. but that's just me.

Re: Too Much Water?
Remember, water is the best thing for your body and you can drink as much of it as you want on any diet. If you are really thirsty try having some Crystal Lite, 0 carbs and it tastes good.Current:

This is NOT meant to say "Don't drink water" (You still need to drink water)!!!!
As it states in the article:
It's Not How Much You Drink, It's How Fast You Drink It! The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications. The bottom line is this: it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition.LINDA - Female
