  • Health Care In the US

Do you have a opinion on the state of Medical Care in the US. This is a US government site that is asking for our imput on Health Care and since something like 48 million folks in the US don't have Health Insurance, maybe you'd like to comment on it and let your thought be known.

    thanks for the post, lynn.
my first thougts are health care in this country stinks.

the middle class working guy can't afford to pay for a house, take care of his kids, buy a car, get insurance for the car, buy groceries and pay his bills and have any money left over to buy health insurance.

i will certainly be looking at the site you offered tomorrow.

Re: Health Care In the US

For those persons in the US who do not have any health insurance, what is subsadized SUCKS. My Goddaughter 26 yrs old ( is undocumented) has LUPUS and grew up getting care at Martin Luther King Jr. Hosp. in Watts. If you have heard about our hospital you should know its terrible. But its what we have if you can not afford a private hosp. My goddaughter to this day suffers from this disease, and becasue of her citizenship status (she has been told her papers are in transition for nearly 10 yrs, she has been here since she was 5. I believe they are putting off her paperwork to see if she will survive.

My friend Gil suffers from an incurable disease (Elephantitis of the lower legs) yet has to wait sometimes 1 month to get an appointment if he is not feeling well. He was born here, worked at Mobile Oil in Hazmat until he got the disease. First our Govt. has not decided if he is permantely disabeled, so he has partial disability. Second, he gets 2nd rate care.

I live and work with undocumented persons, documented persons in a non affluent area. I see family struggle in fear. I watch and help with families who feel that their clinic doc or PA, is not listening to them or assisting them because of language problems.
I am blessed that I have health insurance but it has been 2nd rate. I get the run around on my meds, I have been overmedicated 5 + years back and it nearly killed me, now I suffer from problems of the overmedication.

For our beaurocrats who have so much and create the red tape for US, I wish they would live in a less affluent area as a less affluent person in all manners and see how they feel. They just don't know how the moccasins fit.
Lord, my dream is to lose this weight and to be healthier.
