Right now I have pain on the left side of my upper chest, I amusse its coming from my heart. Everytime I breath in the pain gets worse. I am only 19 years old and not overweight, what could this be? I am also anemic and I heard some people with anemia can get angina(spelling?)

i don't know if any of us should try to diagnois this, lady, especailly if it's your heart.

did you exercise in a different way?
    do you have irregular heartbeats?
did you hit yourself in the chest, bump into something hard enough to hurt yourself?
should you be going to the doctor?

i don't know and won't say, lady. you know your body and if you've had this before and your comfortable not seeking professional help then that's your call. this would worry me.
perhaps if this persists, you'll see a doctor tomorrow, right?

Well whatever it was it just stopped all of a sudden. It only really hurt when I took deep breathes.

I would personally at least call your dr. i wouldn't mess around with your heart. Just my own personal opinion. I have been through a lot of medical issues, and sometimes it seems like not a big deal, but better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck, and i hope it doesn't happen any more!

Just angina? Angina is a very serious heart condition, and if you suspect you have it, I would see a dr immediately.

It is also likely it is a muscle spasm, but if you suspect it is something more I would not wait to see your dr.

Here is a really good Mayo clinic doc on possible causes of chest pain.

FWIW this mayo clinic site is good for alot of info, regarding exercise suppliments etc as well.

If it hurts when you breathe it, it could be asthma...I know, I have asthma. But anything involving breathing pains, and you should see your doc. Could even be heartburn.

                        Take care!

                          Re: chest pain

Your pain could be hundreds, maybe thousands of things, from acid reflux to a pending heart attack, and to diagnose the reason for it requires examination of any other conditions that may be involved. It could be a symptom of something totally unrelated to you heart, or it could BE your heart.

Here's some examples - read all you like...but don't ignore your gut feelings. If you think something bad is wrong, see a good doctor, have some tests run!

                          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chest_pain

I once felt a horrible chest pain for about 3 minutes while gardening. Thought it was a heart attack, then it stopped. When it happened again the next day, I figured it out by deduction to be the particular supplement I'd tried yesterday about 20 min prior to the attack, and again before the current one. Tested my theory a 3rd day, sure enough. It was that supplement irritating my stomach.

Consider the type, location and duration of the pain, recent activities (foods, drinks, exercise etc) prior to each attack. Look for common factors, or lack of them.

Go see a doctor. For some reason doctors don't know the reason for, heart chest pain can mimick stomach complaints.

So please see a doctor for your health and well-being.
