      Re: chest pain

Lady66, You need to call your doctor, even if it has stopped. That's what I was told by my doctor and in a first aid class. Even if it's a mild pulled muscle, you need to be sure.

I don't mean to scare you, but it's nothing to mess around with. I suddenly lost my 39 year old sister to heart problems that she didn't know she had. She had fallen and hurt her shoulder and ws going to have surgery, so that probably masked her pain. I thought she sounded tired for a while, but who knew.

While I was on the very low fat diet, Nutri-System, I was eating lunch. All of a sudden I had a strange dull band of pain around my chest. Not bad, but enough to scare me. I called my doctor and he made me go straight to the emergency, not his office. Of course, it went away before I got there. They did an EKG, and it was fine. Later on, it came back. They finally found out it was my gal bladder. It was blocked with "sludge" not stones--I had the operation and felt all better. I would have never guessed that would cause chest pains. Also, I knew a good general practice doctor who had a few pains like that and thought he was having a heart attack. He went to the hospital...to find gas. He laughed about it, but still chest pains are serious. I'd feel bad if I didn't beg you to call your doctor.
