  • White Stretch Marks/gycolic acid peels and scrubs

    Hi,

I saw that Faith*Hope*Love posted below about how a gycolic acid peel and scrub helped to get rid of white stretch marks. My stomach is covered in stretch marks from years ago and I would love any recommendations on improving them (or, in a perfect world, getting rid of them).

Can anyone share more experiences with this treatment? How well has it worked for you? And, Faith*Hope*Love, if you think it's worth it, any recommendations for a Portland-area place to go (since I'll be moving back in January?).

    Thanks in advance!

I can't speak to how they get rid of stretch marks, but I have had professional glycolic acid peels on my face, and they were fabulous. I have sensitive skin so i'm usually pretty red after, but after a couple of days when it calms down my skin is very soft and clear.

Do acid peels hurt a lot? I have white stretch marks all over my bust It drives me nuts...but better to have them than the alternative I guess.

I had a peel and it didn't hurt at all, but it was itchy feeling.

Hm...I'll have to look into it. I guess I could try it on a small section of skin and see if I have any bad reactions.

The thing that bothers me about my stretch marks is the deflated elastic appearance...eck! On my hips though, they're just white marks. But then again, my hips have a lot of deflating left to do!

I'm really not sure a glycolic peel is going to make very much difference on strech marks. Though it does peel layers of skin, it is a very thin layer, I can't see it getting deep enough to help strech marks.

I would just make sure you investigate it and maybe see a dermatologist. It was a little expensive having it done on my face (about $3-400)so I would imagine it would be alot more having your body done. I had mine done at my dermatologists office rather than at any kind of clinic or spa.
