  • Cutting out caffeine & getting over a stall

I'm curious is anyone else has encountered this. My weight loss had began to slow (still losing, but definitely slowing down) in August. At the same time, I cut out my usual high-intake of caffeing to support my boyfriend. He went into remission from cancer about 1.5 years ago and his doctor told him he should cut out caffeine to reduce bone loss from the radiation treatment.

So, it's been about 2 months with no caffeine at all (save for one cup of green tea per day). Since then, I've seemed to "jump start" my weight loss again.

I'm wondering if there's any reason for this, or if anyone else has experienced it?

Can you post a couple of days worth of "sample menus" so that we can see what you eating? Me might be able to spot something that you cant.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Well, besides the caffeine, my diet hasn't changed at all. Here's what I had yesterday (typical of most days):

      Breakfast:
      1/2 cup fresh strawberries
      cup of green tea

      Lunch:
turkey & ham in low-carb wrap
      lettuce
      pickles
      little mustard/mayo
      water

      Dinner:
"fajitas" with chicken, cheese, 1/2 red pepper, 1/2 green pepper, 1/4 choppen onion, spices
      water

Caffiene inhibits weight loss and causes cravings. It also dehydrates you, meaning the water in your system isn't being used as efficiently to flush out toxins/ketones. There's a really scientific way of saying it, but in a nutshell, giving up caffiene is GOOD and that's probably what jump-started your weight loss again.

That and your calorie count must be very low too. Awesome job!

            Thanks for the replies!

Yes, I realized after writing out a typical daily menu, it seems pretty light. I've definitely noticed that since moving to London from the US, I've been eating less in general - it seems to be the norm here. I'm sure that's also been contributing.
