Atkins and Hormone replacement Therapy

Hie everybuddy

I have been to my Gynaecologist today i have been prescibed HRT( Femoston 2/10mg) to take but im quite worried about gaining weight, so far i have lost 8pounds since i started induction. Please , will Femoston tablets affect my weight loss with atkins? Anyone taking Femoston pills or on other HRT pills?

i also started HRD on October 6th 2006... but im on Prempro (lowest dose) and it hasnt hindered my weight loss at all... dont you worry about a thing... i was on Prempro back in 2003, they had a little scare with HRT - took me off - and now they found out its OK for me, so im back on... but it hasnt stopped my weight loss at all... i like you was really scared at 1st, but for me there is no giving up now...! i am on week 2 and im doing Great...! im sure you will be just fine...! Thank you for the information Mslili, I will give it a try and see what happenns. I feel much more better with your support and motivation. My 1st day with the HRT pills will be tomorrow.

i am quite concerned about being on HRT.
too many bad things were said about it and i guess that sunk in. i'll be happy to see how you deal with it all.

my sister was also looking for an alternative with no luck so she decided on some kind of treatment and plans on staying on it for no more than 3 years, i think.

Im still concerned about it too especially the side effects like DVT, Ca breast etc but im only prescribed for 3months. I will see how it goes.

exactly my concerns, wadzie, and my sisters.
i know, or at least the last information i read on things, was the longer the exposure, the higher the chances of developing other things.

i guess i'm letting you be my little testing lab peep.

Good Morning!
what you HAVE to do is really sit down with your Dr and Ask ALOT of Questions! whatever you want to know... PLEASE dont be afraid to ASK... i was on Prempro back in 2003 and was taken off in 2004 because of the SCARE... they were still doing tests on HRT and 'thought' that women were having Heart Attacks and such because of the HRT, but recently they did ALOT MORE testing on Prempro and found out that the women they were testing were ABOVE 65 years of age... and they also found out that women MY age 46 could be HELPED by taking HRT... there are still alot of tests going on right now, but everyone should really take some time out to WRITE DOWN ALL YOUR QUESTIONS & WHEN YOU SEE YOUR DR... ASK HIM!!! PLEASE!!! and ask him for THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH... im sure like my Dr they wont have a problem explaining it to you... Good Luck To You All...!

Never been the HRT route...but now that I'm plagued by hot flashes (which are just another thing to wake me up at night) I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I should think about it. Interested to see how things go for you...

from My Very 1st Pill......... i felt so much better!!! I Swear To You! you should at least TRY IT... my Hot Flashes Stopped Immediatel...! it was soooooooooo nice to be able to sleep the whole night thru... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Wow! Sounds terrific Mslili! A better night's sleep is quite an incentive. Will most likely have a chat to my doc about it. Hope things continue to be good for you. Do give us an update now and again.
