Chest and Head Cold

I am hoping this is the right place to ask, it is health after all !


Okay I have an extremely bad head and chest cold. I am coughing horribly and my chest and sides feel like they are going to cave in. Its awful! I was curious as to what you guys take as a cough medicine or cold medicine. I know some if not all have sugar and alcohol in them. I am also having trouble sleeping. Thanks guys and gals!

you poor thing - ill over Christmas!

I would try filling a bowl with boiling hot water and putting some sort of menthal in it, then put your head over and inhale (put a towel over your head and bowl to keep the steam in!!) that should sort your head cold out - plus it will give you a mini facial!! hehe

I am just now getting over a very bad chest cold myself. The amount of sugar/alcohol in a cough medicine syrup varies, but I use Tylenol Severe daytime/nighttime it works the best for me and doesn't affect my weight at all. Also, if your chest is congested you can try Mucinex which will break up the congestion and relieve a cough. Tablets of course don't contain that stuff I believe. Hope you feel better!

Oh what a bummer to be ill over the holidays! Hope you feel much better soon. I'd ditto Jane's advice and do the bowl and towel thing... these old fashioned remedies are pretty good!

you can boost your immune system by taking several things, echinacea for one.
