HELP PLEASE Bloodshot eyes... on my 4th week of induction

I noticed like a week ago that my eyes were dry, and kinda with a lot of veins that weren't there before (and also a slight --beige-yelowish tone to them)... I've been searching posts if someone had the same on their eyes and here..

Looking on the web, I've found that they mentioned liver problems but my urine keeps light colored, contrary to the symptoms they described (in fact the eye-thing is the only weird thing I've experienced) ...

Any clues?? They said "jaundice" but my skin and my urine stay normal (?!?!) well everything but my eyes..

Have you ever experienced eyes with like bloodshots??

I have not had that sort of condition, but it sounds like a trip to the physician is in order. You have only one set eyes...better keep 'em healthy. Keep us informed if you wish.

you know what I'll hate another doctor telling me atkins is bad! and having to give a synoptic chart of atkins principles statistics and facts... but yeah .. I guess you're right.

Hi Daniejim,

That definately sounds like a trip to the Dr is needed, Bio is right, eyes are precious.

Just some other things worth considering - do you wear contacts, sounds obvious, but it could be to do with that - I had bloodshot eyes and an infection once to do with these.

Have you been swimming lately or had contact with any chemicals? Or trying any new beauty product?

Even if any of these explain the problem - still see a Dr as treatment might be needed anyway.

mm nope I don't wear contacts.. do you guys (girls) know if minersl makeup causes eyes irritation???? maybe that's the reason.. I started days ago and it might have promoted the dryness and redness.. I don't know trying to figure it out

I haven't heard of that brand myself - I could be that it does affect you personally. I am allergic to all kinds of stuff. Perhaps lay off it a while, but still see Dr.

Also what you said about being reluctant to tell them you are doing Atkins - I totally understand what you mean, but it isn't worth jeopardising your health over. You never know they may be interested and supportive - some people have Drs like that on here!

Wow!! I never knew that Atkins could affect your eyes, but the whole liver thing does make sense...I noticed that my eyes have looked a little blood shot since I've been doing Atkins, but I just assumed that it was allergies (cus it's allergy season here in California...) Could that be the same situation for you Dani?

As far as the mineral makeup goes...I have eyeshadow that is made from minerals, and whenever I wear it, if it gets into my eyes, it burns like a sonofagun. So that's a possibility.

thanx julie I'll stop using that foundation... I posted an answer in Yahoo answer and they say the same ... I think I'm not suspecting anymore of liver problems 'cause they feel so dry !!!! suuuper drrrryyyyy ... Ok.. I'll stop using the mineral makeup, and I'll repost here in a week and see if it improved.. otherwise... I'll go to the Dr... thanx you all!!

I have never heard of such a reaction. I found it rather interesting that the post you referenced was about the same time of year, but two years earlier. Sound like allergies to me. But, I would strongly suggest you see your physician.
