Ketosis PEE???

Okay, so I thought maybe I had a yeast infection, but I didn't. Then maybe a bladder infection but no again. I have had really STINKY pee...I mean PEE YOU stinky pee. Do you think it could be Ketosis??? Could that be the awful smell??? I went to the Dr. yesterday. He took a look Said I may have just a bacterial infection, but didn't seem to know much about anything....BLAH!!! He gave me antibiotics. The thing is it's my pee, not "inside" if you know what I mean. He did an internal exam, but that isn't the problem. I have NO pain at all. I was a LITTLE, not a lot, where I pee (nothing bad, but that is what made me think it was a yeast infection, no discharge). Anyways, if anyone knows or has had any of this will you let me??? I'm a wreck And I don't want stinky pee Stinky pee stinks!!! lol Oh, this is not a sweet smell, it's a stinky one. I drink water so I don't think that's it either. Thanks for the help.

well i would say it was ketosis pee, but its weird that you're only just now getting this, youve been doing this for long enough!

have you had less water than usual the last coupla days that could of made it more concentrated?

Maybe, I'm not really sure. Myabe it is just a bacterial infection. I have to take the meds and go back in 2 weeks for another check, and then he is going to do a pap smear I think I'm just scared over the whole thing. Thanks Emma

I have stinky pee...but it comes from all the vits I take. Have you started taking a new supplement?

Maybe it is just a bacteria infection, but I wouldn't think a bacteria infection would make my pee smell so bad

I am in agreement with Lisa.

I drink lots of water every day so mine should be a light light color one would think and so watered down it shouldn't have any smell...but its really yellow and strong smelling. Its because of all the vitamins and supplements I take.

Am I understanding that he is just assuming that it could be a bacterial infection and that is why he gave you antiboitics? There should be no assuming with an infection issue... it is very simple to analyze a urine sample while you wait and determine whether or not an infection is present and that antibiotics are necessary. Or maybe your doctor doesn't have a lab onsite? - mine does, so I don't have to wait for days for an answer. Believe me, I have had more urological issues than any person should ever have to have, and I frequently needed to be checked for infection a few years back. Personally, I am very leary of taking antibiotics unless absolutely necessary.

Have you eaten any different foods at all? I know that when my husband eats asparagus, his pee smells like asparugus for days... eeewww. I find that mine gets a distinctive odor after I've eaten onions or after I've eaten chicken shwarma salad from a greek restaurant.

Nicole, have you added any new foods this week? I know the pee you are speaking of and I used to have it too, but it was when I went off track. I hope you get an answer soon.

I was going to mention asparagus too... if you've been eating that every day then...phew! But otherwise, it's generally supplements and lowered water intake. I'd try upping your water consumption and if you still have this, then have a urine test done.
