    Re: May have gall stones....HELP

Good news... Ultrasound came back normal...no gall stones were seen at all! So thats a good thing but now I'm left wondering what is going on. I have barely ate anything since I threw up in the hospital late Saturday night. Since I have only had some vegetables, salads, a few strawberries and sugar free jello, lots of water ofcourse. Well Im daring to eat some chicken breast and beans....and scared of the pain! I already feel it lingeriing so Im terrified to eat and more so now that I still dont have answers. I was told by my family doctor's nurse over the phone today to continue on a "normal healthy diet" all she said was no spicey foods. Its like they think I have heartburn when its obvious I don't.

Anyway Im hoping to not end up in ER again tonight. I'll keep you all posted.

As the other's have said, the ultra sound isn't a good way to diagnose gall stones. There is a CT Scan that uses a dye that you drink and then you get scanned in Nuclear Medicine (here it was called a HIDA Scan). That test is definitive on gall stones. Perhaps you could ask your doctor for that, or get a second opinion!

Here's a link to information on the HIDA scan.

Well I ate some chicken breast cooked with a bit of olive oil and some beans with a smidge of butter on them last night and had no pains...mind you I took 2 tylenol and 3 buscopan before I ate. I'm going to eat atkins friendly foods today and see what happens!
