Well... I'm shedding, all over my body. This happened last time and I went off. I really don't want to go off again. I am 31 years old, lost 50 pounds, my thyroid is fine, my hormones are fine... and I am taking many daily vitamins. Any ideas???

    Re: Hairloss

I thought my hair was falling out faster than normal (not positive though since I never tracked it before), but after about a week of clean eating, with lots of fat and lots of fish (omega 3s and 6s), plus vitamins (chromium, l-carnitine, l-glutamine, and a regular multivitamin), it seems to have balanced out. Not sure if it's the same for you. Oh, I also stopped wearing my hair in a ponytail so much.

        Re: Hairloss

I'm losing mine too and I cry whenever I look in the mirror. Losing it right above my bangs.... ugh!

My doctor said it could be a dermatology problem or... just hereditary.
I discovered mine is hereditary. If it gets much worse I'll just buy a cute wig and be glad it isn't something more serious.

I bought Nioxin shampoo and conditioner at Super Cuts and that works great for hiding it.

Here is a thread on this issue, and there is a good link about shedding during weight loss in one of the messages.

          It will grow back.

Get your vitamins.. In men it comes down to heredity..we have to live with it.. in women..well..they grow back..hehehehe..
But, hairloss due to diet is a reversible procedure..they grow back eventually

If we only knew which type we have.

I bought BioSil at the Health Store... it's very expensive. It's $23 for 30 and they want you to take two a day. I only take one. It's too expensive! It doesn't have any B vitamins in it but the clerk said women have had success with it. I'll let you know.

                  Re: Hairloss

is BioSil a multivitamin pill? it is rare to find a bald woman, who blames it to heredity. For men, is most of the cases..

                    Re: Hairloss

oHHHHH yes! Women do get bald. There is a lady working in a store in town who only has hair on the sides all around her head. I thought she was a man... she isn't. I saw another such woman recently too. It seems it is no longer uncommon to find a bald woman. My hairdresser said she has quite a few women who wear hair pieces and wigs. Sometimes it is meds but male-pattern baldness hits women too.
                    Google it.

BioSil isn't a vitamin it contains: Silicon; ORTHOSILICIC aCID. AND microcrystalline Cellulose,Choline Chloride,
                    Purified water,ORTHOSILICIC aCID.

                      Re: Hairloss

Yes..male patter baldness for women happens but not that common.. it is a recessive trait genetically and that woman usually hits the jackpot with that..well, with so many women been around, it becomes less rare to see one..
I ll check about the BioSil..

It's not just with men, women can have the hereditary one...I have it ;-)

For me, it grows back thinner and since 10 years ago I lost an inch from my hairline. I can't tie my hair up because you can see my scalp.

I've seen omega oils recommended here..will that help if it's hereditary?
