  • Lost my period

    Hello,
I am 28 and weigh 145 pounds after losing 4 pounds on Atkins during induction. I am in OWL rung 1 and I still have about 15 pounds more to lose. I noticed that I missed my period this month (I am positive I am not pregnant). What does it mean when you lose your period? Am I losing to fast? Is it normal to lose it during weight loss? I am not taking Birth Control but I can if that means I will get my period back.

    Any advice would help!
    Thanks!

    Re: Lost my period

It could be extra estrogen being released together with the fat or some other hormonal imbalance or a urinary infection or a bunch of other reasons. Did you see your doctor before starting Atkins?

It's a good idea to see your doctor if you miss your period. It could be nothing, but it's not something you want to play with.

No one here can give you medical advice. Please see your physician.

Undereating, either calories or net carbs, can also affect your period.
