YES! I don't even look at fashion mags anymore. Nor watch fashion shows. I was happy to get to regular sizes because its so hard to find nice affordable clothes for plus sized people. I should be even happier with my size than I am. But as long as designers are designing for coat hangers, not real people, it makes for disasters in the dressing room! I can't tell you how many times a top is cut wrong to fit the breasts of a living, breathing woman even if they bothered to make her size! I think all designers should be forced to look at their handy work on adverage sized people. Then I think some should design really nice things in plus sizes that are FLATTERING on plus sizes! I am sick of feeling like I am being told I have to be a size 2 to have something nice to wear. If I ever got to that size, it would be really wrong for my frame. I love clothes, I want to fit in them, I want to try them on, I want them to do nice things for me no matter what size I am. I am trying to get to a healthy weight but there is no reason I shouldn't get to feel like I look good NOW!

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

    1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
    2nd mini goal: 140!
    3rd mini goal:135!
    4th mini goal: 130!

I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

Ummm, they used US sized 8/10 models. Women *my* size. They didn't use plus sized models at all! UK 12/14= US 8/10. And... , on what planet is a US Size 12/14 PLUS?!! Schmucks.

      Unreal.

I love how they carry on like they actually did "normal" sized women a favor! Isn't the average woman in America something like a size 14?? That'd be a UK 18/20, and a size 12/14 is what a *lot* of women here use as their goal size. According to the fashion industry at a US Size 12/14, you're still too big to wear designer clothes?!!

      Gee. Thanks!

I say, Screw them. I find it ridiculous to spend that kind of money on a dress I can make at home for 1/10000th the price, and most of them are homely anyway. So there.

LOL! Yeah but can you believe someone quit over three still lean models? I'm about a US size 12 now. I wouldn't put me in a knit dress. And if I was a US size 2, I still wouldn't put me in a knit dress! Off the rack clothes mimic the runway styles and do it far cheaper. And if the big designers would design for more than one body shape, it would affect the selections available to regular people. I get my clothing secondhand, Walmart, or department store clearance(75% off). But believe me US size 12s are the same design as a US size 6 whether it suits you on or not! And if you are a US size 10 or 12 or 14 you might as well hang out at the Salvation Army to grab what comes threw in your size cause out the door it goes as fast as it comes in! Here clothes come in lots, they get so many each size and that is not based on how many size 12 people there are that will need clothes. Some styles sell out real fast in certain sizes. But yes, fashion should change, its long overdue. If regular people like me refuse to pay good money for bad clothes, they would have to do better all around. And until I see something special at a good price, I'll just throw on something from the Salvation Army!
